EDITH MAY RYAN DEAD
Edith May Ryan, eldest and beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John N. Ryan, was born in Clarke county, Ia, March 27, 1889, and died Sept. 23, 1906, at the home of her parents in Macon, Mo. aged 17 years, 5 months and 25 days. She leaves a father, mother, three sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss. One brother, John N. Jr. died in infancy, about eight years ago. She was always a loving, obedient child, and a faithful companion and associate, and to know her was to love her. She led a life of exemplary character, and had rare talents and attainments and high ideals of life, but when she found that she must go she bowed cheerfully to do the will of Him who doeth all things well. About three years ago she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Macon, Mo. and always was a consistant and faithful member, her chief ambition was to lead all into a life of purity. Just before she died she called all around her bedside and said she was happy, and loved all dearly and that her little brother was to meet her. She bore her long and painful sickness with a fortitude and always had a kind word for all.
She was intered at Osceola, Iowa, in the Maple Hill Cemetry Sept. 25th 1906.
