Formation It
was organized in 1870 and was originally a part of Pilot township.
Early Settlers J.W. Tilden, Clark West, John Baker, R.E. Duncan,
Mr. Clifford, Bishop Brayton, Joseph Coe, H.S. Briggs, Samuel
McWilliams, W.E. Simons, and R.H. Peavy.
First Events Settler: J.W. Tilden Death: the wife of Mr. Clifford in 1872 School-house: built in 1871 and was taught by Miss Martha Goodrich Religious services: Methodist in 1872 or 1873 Post office: 1887 with Matt Gerten as the postmaster Fatality: during the windstorm of 1881, the wife of Charles Krelow was killed when the house was torn apart.
