J. A. Lowman donated the land in 1870. The first burial was a two-year-old girl, Ida Guess, daughter of Eli A. and Sarah Guess, in 1871. In the 1880’s a church was built there but was destroyed by a tornado in 1928. A new church was built but in the 1950’s was sold and removed.
