ULLYSSES G. WEAVER, NOBLE TOWNSHIP.

Of the younger generation of farmers, Ulysses G. Weaver is among those most favorably known in this section of the county, both for his progressive methods as an agriculturist and his useful citizenship. He is a son of Leonard J. and Elizabeth (Eashelman) Weaver, his father being enrolled among the brave soldiers who went from Illinois and fought under Thomas and Sherman, from Chickamauga to the sea. Leonard J. Weaver has been deservedly honored since he became a resident of Noble township, and is among its most repsected citizens.

Ulysses G. Weaver was born in Carroll county, Ill., in April, 1869, and in the succeeding fall his father located in Cass county, settling on the land which now comprises the old family homestead when the boy was about three years of age. He developed to manhood in Noble township, and, although comparatively young in years, has attained to a position of comfort and honor. In 1892 our subject was united in marriage with Kittie Hofmeister, a native of Germany, whose parents came to the United States about twenty years ago. The four children born to their union are Elda, Ina, Beulah and Viola.

Mr. Weaver is quite active in local politics, and among the township offices has served for four years as constable. He is a member of the I. O. O. F. and K. of T. M. and identified, religiously, with the United Evangelical Church.
