JEFFERSON GOODALE.

Jefferson Goodale came to Cass county July 17, 1853, and during that year entered land in section 6, of what is now Benton township. From that time until 1856 he entered various tracts until he was the owner of not less than 1,500 acres in the townships of Benton and Pymosa. He also entered much land for other parties in both Cass and Audubon counties. The homestead on which he settled and resided until his death, October 2, 1882, was on the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section 6, Benton township. At one time he was the owner of the entire section. For many years before coming to Cass county Mr. Goodale was a prosperous farmer of Allen county, Ind., and at his death left a large family of married children, some of whom were residents of Pymosa and Atlantic townships.
