WILLIAM C. BRYANT.

WILLIAM C. BRYANT, a brother of James C. and his partner in business, is ten years his junior, having been born on June 21, 1865. He attended the public schools in his native county and Davis county, and also the Southern Iowa Normal School. His legal studies began in 1887 and he also taught school for a few years. In 1894 he was admitted to the bar, having been graduated from the law department of Drake University, and since his admissions has been continuously practicing at Griswold in association with his brother. He was married on September 6, 1899, to Jessie M. Lamborn, a native of Jackson county, Iowa.

In politics William C. Bryant is a Republican, and has rendered the city excellent service in two terms as mayor, and the county the same, as county attorney from January, 1900, to January, 1905. Fraternally he is a Freemason and a Knight of Pythias. Like his brother, he has special fitness for the profession he has chosen, and enriches his natural ability by close thoughtful reading and judicious and discriminating observation. In the office, in court and before the jury, he is strong, tactful and impressive, while his citizenship is elevated and highly esteemed.
