Sulphur Springs - West Scott

SULPHUR SPRINGS. A small place on the I. div. I. C. Ry, in Providence township, Buena Vista county, 128 miles northwest of Des Moines, and 6 east of Storm Lake, the county seat and nearest banking point. It contains Methodist Episcopal and Presbyterian churches, and a public school. Ships grain and live stock. Population, 50. Tel., W. U. Exp., Am. Mail, daily. George W. Parsons, postmaster.

WEST SCOTT. A country postoffice on Brook creek, in Elk township, Buena Vista county, 130 miles northwest of Des Moines, 10 northwest of Storm Lake, the county seat, and 6 north of Alta, on the I. C. R. R., the nearest railroad station and banking point. Settled in 1877, it contains a Methodist Episcopal church and ships produce. Stage twice a week to Alta, with mail; fare, 25 cents.
