Category:Booking Agent / PromoterTom Blecker was born in Clarion, Iowa in the late 1960’s. His father was the Wright County Sheriff for 18 years. Tom is a graduate of Clarion High School where he was a standout high school wrestler.
He is a life-long Iowa resident and has been involved in the music booking, production, and promotion business in Iowa for more than 30 years. Most of Tom has been involved in the music business for most of his adult life. He has worked with some of the biggest names in music history and has focused primarily on the Midwest.
He has produced, booked, and presented shows at casinos, corporations, fairs, festivals, city celebrations, ballrooms, including The Surf and Val Air ballrooms as well as art centers.
He has always believed in presenting artists dedicated to the music of the 50's through 70s. Following is a list of just some of the artists he has worked with consider him as a close friend: Rock/Pop: K C & The Sunshine Band, The Fleetwoods, Al Wilson, Barbara Lewis, Eric Burden & The Animals, Dick & Dee Dee, The Ventures, The Surfaris, The Beach Boy’s David Marks, Jay & The Techniques, Box Tops, Young Rascals, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Broadway Beatles, The Diamonds, Young Rascals, Tower Of Power, Head East, Blue Oyster Cult, Molly Hatchet, Black Oak Arkansas, Pat Traver, Canned Heat, Lou Christie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, New Colony Six, Cryan Shames, Buckinghams, Shadows of Knight, Classics IV, Outsiders, Grass Roots, Peter Noone, The Monkees, Three Dog Night, Johnny Rivers, The Turtles, Tony Orlando & Dawn, Billy Joe Royal, Danny & The Juniors and many more.

Tom has included many Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artists on his shows, including Echo’s Five, The Fabulous Flippers, Pete Klint Quintet, Dee Jay & The Runaways, The Houserockers (Lincoln Reed), Crow, Upson Downs, Bobby Vee and New Colony Six.
Tom Blecker is unquestionably one of the most active music show producers working in Iowa today. His multi-decade dedication to the support of live music has made him the “go to” music producer in the Hawkeye State and the Midwest. He takes his place in the IRRMA Hall of Fame with the Class of 2011.
