John U. Perry
(1826 - June 19, 1897)J. U. Perry, assumed the control of the office of treasurer and recorder in 1862, holding it one term. Mr. Perry was a man of good parts and education, a hard worker, but owing to that peculiar ill-luck that pursues some men like a shadow, he never was able to advance his worldly prospects materially. He was admitted to the bar and endeavored to practice that profession in conjunction with the business of real estate agent, but did not meet with the desired success. He is now in Mason City, although his family are still residents of Worth county. Source: History of Mitchell and Worth Counties, Iowa, 1884, p.589
