SIOUX CITY - Richard Thomas "Tom" Galvin, 80, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on the 23rd of June in 1943 to Barney & Joanne Galvin in Sioux City, Iowa. The family moved to Dakota City Nebraska in 1946 wherein Tom spent his childhood. The family then relocated to San Diego CA in 1958.

Following his military service, Tom became an over-the-road truck driver and was beloved by many friends and family for his out-going personality. He was a master at his favorite pass time of shuffle board, and had an immense sense of humor in departing his wisdom. Tom cherished and touched the lives of many with an unwavering spirit, and will be dearly missed for his love of holidays around family and loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved son Brian, Sisters, Roberta, Mary, Sue, Jane, & Jodie, and brothers, Mike and Robert, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia, Katherine, & Theresa, and bothers, Gerald, and Steve.

A memorial/funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on May 31, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Michael's Church at 1405, 1st Avenue, in South Sioux City, NE 68776, followed by interment in Dakota City Cemetery. Richard Thomas, Tom Galvin, will forever remain in ourhearts, May he rest in peace.
