Funeral services for Marlyn Kenneth Rasmussen, 56, of Decorah, were held Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church.

Mr. Rasmussen, a janitor at John Cline School in Decorah, died Oct 5.

The Rev. Alden Hovda and the Rev John Halverson conducted the services. Organist was Diane Kvamme, accompanying soloists, Carol and Gordon Gaustad. Sensor-French Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Rasmussen, Victor Fye, LaMoyne Thompson, John Peterson, Alan Peake, and Robert Wiemerslage. Honorary pallbearers were Virgil Snell, Carl Leistikow, and William Spilde.

Marlyn Rasmussen, was born March 23, 1930, the son of Jens and Stella Rosendahl Rasmussen. He attended Decorah Senior High School and was a member of the Decorah Lutheran Church. He married the former Hazel Telford on Aug. 30, 1951 in Decorah.

Survivors are his wife, Hazel, his mother-in-law, Minnie Telford, three children, Debra Haberkorn of Marion, Iowa, Connie Sabbann of St. Paul. Minn., and Denise Webbles of Rochester, Minn., five grandchildren, four brothers, Ray Rasmussen of Decorah, Lester Rasmussen of Decorah, Vernon Rasmussen of Hesper, and Ervin Rasmussen of Decorah, and three sisters, Henrietta Sundby, Mae Brynsaas, and Selma Nelson, all of Decorah.
