MARRIED.
Makepeace-Hovey
Last Wednesday Rev. Normann of Cresco united in marriage Miss Ethel Makepeace of Decorah and John Hovey of Orleans twp. The marriage took place in Cresco and Miss Ina Makepeace and a nephew of the groom were attendants to the young couple. Mr. and Mrs. Hovey departed soon after the ceremony for the Twin Cities and will spend their honeymoon there, stopping at Northfield on their return home to visit with friends.
Mrs. Hovey is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Makepeace of Decorah and is a young woman of pleasant personality and a happy disposition. She has grown to young womanhood near our city and is a graduate of the Decorah high school having also attended Valder College. For the past five years she has been teaching near Cresco, where she is considered one of the excellent teachers in that vicinity. It was while teaching near Cresco that she became acquainted with Mr. Hovey.
The groom is one of the fine young men of Orleans twp. He is an industrious farmer, and a man of good habit and character. It is the wish of many friends that Mr. and Mrs. Hovey enjoy many years of happiness together.
