Married in Nebraska.
One of the most elaborate and impressive weddings ever solemnized in Tilden was that of Miss Otildia Rotter and Mr. Leopold Kapler which occurred in the Catholic Church at nine o’clock Wednesday morning, May 23rd. The ceremony was performed with Solemn High Mass by Father O’Sullivan, assisted by Father Walsh of Battle Creek and Father Gebauer of Clearwater. It was a very impressive scene as the bridal party took their places for the marriage service. The bride was attended by Miss Baker of Cresco, Iowa, and groom by Jos. Rotter, brother of the bride. The church was most beautiful{ly} decorated for the occasion.
Following the wedding ceremony the relatives and many of the friends of the couple repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where the wedding breakfast was served.
The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Rotter, who, with her husband now deceased, were among the early settlers and highly esteemed. The daughter is an excellent young woman and has been trained in the domestic and homemaking art so that she is well prepared to enter upon the new life before her. The groom resides at Cresco, Ia., where the newly wedded couple will begin housekeeping, after a brief wedding trip to Clearwater to visit Father Gebauer and to Waverly, Minn., to visit Mr. and Mrs. F. Schmalek, the latter a sister of the bride.
The groom’s father and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kapler and Mr. and Mrs. Zack Kapler attended the wedding.—Tilden, Neb., Citizen.
The many friends in this vicinity of the groom will give him and his bride a hearty welcome and the Plain Dealer joins with them in hearty gratulations and good wishes for health happiness and success.
