Katie Burger rites Wednesday

Services for Katherine "Katie" Burger, 95, who died at 5:50 a.m. Monday at Parkview Care Center, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to First Lutheran Church and the Parkview Activity Fund.

Mrs. Burger was born Jan. 26, 1892 in Brighton, the daughter of Joseph and Louisa Wolf Miller. She married John A. Burger Aug. 31, 1911 in Shobonier, Ill. He died Oct. 10, 1956. A homemaker, she had lived all of her life in Jefferson County and was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Vera Luedtke, Louise Schillerstrom, both of Fairfield; Ruth Wiggins, Princeton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Raymond Miller, Washington. A daughter, five sisters and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
