In the name of God Amen. I Isaac N. Mathew of the Township of Cedar, County of Washington, and State of Iowa, of the age of thirty six years (36), and being of sound mind, do make, publish, and declare this my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say:

First I give and bequeath to my wife Catherine Mathew All of my Real and personal property, remaining after my debts are paid so long as She remains my widow. And I understand this to include my homestead of forty (40) Acres of Land situated in the above named Township, County, and State. After which my property is to be divided equally among my Children. That is to say after my Wife's Widowhood ceases, or if she remains my Widow unto her death, then after that my children are to have my property divided among them as afore said. In witness whereof, I have here unto set my hand, this 9th day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three.
