March 13, 1917 - May 12, 1990

Phyllis M. Medaris, 73, of 218 N. 6th St., died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in Keokuk Convalescent Center, following a lengthly illness.

She was born March 13, 1917, in Warsaw, Ill., the daughter of Melvin H. and Mildred T. Drueke Furtney. She married Myrle W. Medaris on May 18, 1948, in Keosauqua.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Conn of Keokuk; sister, Marjorie Schmidt of Ceylon, Minn.; and cousins, Rose Pfaffe of Keokuk and Betty Nau of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson.

Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Greaves Mortuary with Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating and at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Greaves Mortuary with Rev. Michael Spiekermeier officiating.

Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.

Visitation will be today at Greaves Mortuary and the family will meet with friends at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
