Rebecca Malinda Mutchler, 99, of Farmington, Iowa formerly of Edina, Missouri, passed away Wednesday evening, February 22, 1989 in the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.
The daughter of Albert Newton and Kathryn Eyler Stutsman, she was born July 26, 1889 in Illinois.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Jack Wesley Mutchler of Farmington, Lorene Albert Mutchler of Yarmouth and Mrs. Verle (Esther Frances) Fenton of Burlington; 17 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parent; one son, John Albert Mutchler; six brothers, Charles, Peter Henry; Louis, Frank, Lorence and John Alexander Stutsman; seven sisters, Minnie Lorey, Sarah Ruth Haines, Isabelle Coffey, Nancy Rhoda Davis, and Mary Ann, Florence and Marie Stutsman; and one great-great-granddaughter, Julie Pinson.
Mrs. Mutchler moved Edina on October 3, 1896 in a covered wagon with her parents from Illinois. She resided in Edina until 1982 when she moved to Farmington and for the past five years has lived with her grandson, Jack W. Mutchler.
She was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 25, 1989 in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri with the Reverend Robert Stephens officiating. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery in Edina.
