Charles N. Davis

Charles N. Davis died February 23, 1989 at the Allison Care Center, Allison, Iowa.

He was born December 13, 1900 at Rossville, Ill., the son of Byron Bruce Davis and Lydia Frame.

He married Elizabeth Dickson on December 25, 1925. She died July 19, 1972. He then married Bernice Hawbaker March 21, 1974.

Surviving are two sons, Dean Davis of Greene, Iowa; Jerry B. Davis of Tucson, Arizona; a niece, whom he raised, Sandra Olson of Columbia, S.C.; step-daughter, Mrs. Janet (late Carl) Schultz, Davenport, Iowa and a step-son, Jerry Hawbaker, St. Peter, MN; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

He formerly lived at 210 North Division, Cedar Falls, Iowa; was a farmer till 1953, UNI groundskeeper till 1969 and part-time Cedar Falls City worker till 1972. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 27, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. at Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont, Iowa, Rev. Kent Kastler of the United Methodist Church in Greene, Iowa officiating. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, Iowa.
