Effie Marie Wagner

Effie Marie Wagner, 82, 2639 Ave. L, died at 6:37 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. She had been in failing health three months and seriously ill two weeks.

Mrs. Wagner was born Oct. 23, at Fort Madison and was a lifelong local resident. She was of the Christian faith.

She was married to Tom Wagner, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Bill Fields, Farmington; three daughters, Julia Bernhardt, Fort Madison, Kay Allen, Bonaparte, and Frances Gilchrest, Wyoming, Mich.; a brother, Fred H. Doty, Fort Madison; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, several nephews and nieces.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and four brothers. Her parents were Warren English and Sophia Marie Winkler Doty.

The body is at the Barr Memorial Chapel where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. George Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Barr Memorial Chapel after 1 p.m. today until time of the services.
