Harold Steinmeyer, 80, of 214 Grandview died July 2, 1989, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, 1001 E. Pennsylvania.

He was born Nov. 8, 1908, in Bonaparte to John Edward and Ettie Von Seggen Steinmeyer. He was an employee of John Morrell and Company for 37 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the First Christian Church, BPO Elks 347, and the Evening Toastmasters. He married Jeannette Therme on Oct. 22, 1932, in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua, the Rev. Neil Guy of the First Christian Church officiating.

Family visitation will be at the Reece Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to his church.
