Roger Dean Saner, 33, of Milton died May 25, 1989, at Iowa Methodist Center in Des Moines.
He was born Feb. 9, 1956, in Ottumwa to Donald and Judy Liles Saner. He served in Korea as a radio operator. He was employed by Creech Ag-Structures of Eldon until June 1988, when he went to work for Rockwell International in Fairfield. He attended Cardinal High School until 1973. He then moved to Van Buren County where he lived with Dr. and Mrs. Henry Perry. He participated in wrestling and football at Davis County High School and graduated in 1974. He attended Indian Hills Community College Vo-Ag department from 1981 to 1983.
He is survived by his companion Marilyn Black Naill of Milton; her daughter, Kari Naill; his parents of Eldon; his grandmother, Dorothy Saner of Eldon; grandparents Dwight and Opal Liles of Eldon; three sisters, Barbara Haskell of Centerville, Pam Schaffer of Milton and Gale Saner of Eldon; and six brothers, Cliff of Douds, John of Port Byron, Ill., Marvin, Frank, Jacob and Rodney of Eldon.
The service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 1989 at the Milton United Methodist Church, the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Burial was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton with military rites by Russell Strait Post.
A memorial has been established to Sunnyside Cemetery Avenue of Flags or Davis County High School Wrestling Department.
Priester Funeral Chapel of Bloomfield was in charge of arrangements.
