Glenn R. Hummell, 60, of Stockport died on arrival at Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua on January 19, 1989. He suffered a heart attack at his home.
He was born July 29, 1928, near Stockport to Carl and Pauline Lyon Hummell. He lived in Stockport and graduated from Stockport High School. He was a farmer, a member of Stockport Christian Church and a past master of Workman Lodge No. 634 AF&AM. He was a member of Stockport Chapter 544 OES, Stockport Boosters Club, Hawkeye State Archaeological Society, Fairfield Square Dance Club, Van Buren County Historical Society, and a volunteer at Mount pleasant Old Threshers. He married Evelyn Thomson on April 30, 1949.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Aleta Harris of Davenport; two grandchildren; and his parents of Stockport.
The service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 1989 at the Stockport Christian Church, the Revs. David Kennedy and Matthew May officiating. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery, near Stockport, with Masonic graveside rites.
Memorials to Stockport Christian Church, Spencer Cemetery or the Stockport First Responders may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
