Robert O. Reed, 69, of Keosauqua died March 26, 1989, at Yuma Regional Hospital in Yuma, Ariz.
He was born August 13, 1919, in Pittsburg to Davis Oscar and Pearl Umphrey Reed. He graduated from Keosauqua High School, operated a furniture and paint store in Keosauqua for several years and was a retired rural mail carrier.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Beer-Barker Post No. 113 American Legion in Keosauqua. He married Margaret Swiers Rambo on Feb. 23, 1950, in Keosauqua.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mary Zobac and Roberta Donald of Phoenix, Ariz.; four step-children, Scott Rambo of Rockford, Ill., Rex Rambo of Chicago, Laura Dodds of Stockport and Kay Stroehle of Tucson, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Fern Robbins of Pittsburg.
The service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 1989 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
