Dead Baby Found near Farmington.

The Farmington News this week will say: Monday morning between 8 and 9 o'clock, Earl Cox, a boy of twelve years, rowed to the island in a skiff for wood. While looking around the north shore he saw a small package which he pulled to shore. Removing the line of black thread with which the package was tied, he unwrapped a copy of a Bonaparte paper of the date of March 23 and found a shoe box containing the dead body of a male infant. Young Cox pulled for the shore with hig(his) ghostly find and informed his father, who called on the township trustees. The trustees called Justice Townsend to act as coroner, who impanelled a jury consisted of F.D. Carr, A.F. Boyer and M.H. Cox. The following verdict was returned:

"We do find that the deceased came to his death in some manner unknown to the jury, it appearing to us that the same had been abandoned or discarded by its mother or by some one in attendance at the birth."
