Raymond C. "Joe" Madden, 76, of 506 New York Avenue died Sunday night, April 5, 1987 at home of a heart attack.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home here. The Rev. Peter Dible, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, will officiate with burial in Graceland Cemetery. A family night will be held tonight from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Maden was born Sept. 24, 1910, in Kent to Frank and Grace Madden. He married Eleanor Davenport in 1933 in Des Moines. He lived in Shannon city from 1934 to 1944 and moved to Creston in 1944. He was a retired railroad engineer and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Linda Clark of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, Jerry of Portland, Ore., Duane of Thief River Falls, Minn. and Wayne Madden of Creston; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
