Brother of Local Man Passes Away

J. R. Locke, 65, Bedford, Ia., attorney, died Wednesday night in a Maryville, Mo., hospital. He was widely known as Bedford's Santa Claus because he treated everyone generously at Christmas and aided needy persons the year around.

Mr. R. J. Locke, of Primghar, a brother, left here Wednesday for Bedford, where he attended the funeral which was held Saturday, January 1st. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schultz left for Bedford Friday, December 31st and returned Saturday. Mrs. Schultz is a daughter of Mr. R. J. Locke.
