Russell Faircloth
Russell Faircloth, 73, of Garwin, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Graveside services were held Friday, Aug. 12, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Robert Doner of Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook officiating.
Born April 18, 1932, in Kellogg, he was the son of Arthur and Eunice (Shill) Faircloth. He graduated from Rhodes High School in 1950. On Feb 16, 1951, he married Peggy Gallentine. They resided in Marshalltown, Gladbrook Lake, Rhodes and Garwin. He was employed at State Center Creamery and Meeker Laundry before working at Fisher Control for 35 years. After retirement, he worked for Meskwaki, Lewis Distributing and Iowa Machine Shop. Faircloth had been a member of Cental Christian Church, Marshalltown; Board of Directors of the Central Iowa Credit Union; Tri-County Bass Club and Lucky 7 Hunting Club. Immediate survivors include his wife, Peggy; children, Bill (Becky) Faircloth of rural Toledo, Dan Faircloth of Garwin, Susan (Laverne) Wegner of Gladbrook and Sarah (Dale) Kunch of Marshalltown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Beatrice (Herb) Waltemeyer of CO., Helen (Don) Rittierodt of CO., Marvel (Dick) Van Zwol of State Center, Bill (Ardith) Faircloth of State Center and John "Jake" Faircloth of Forest City. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell Jr.; one great-grandson; and one sister, Betty Schuler.
The Mitchel Family Funeral Home, Marshalltown, was in charge of arrangements.
