Toledo Rites for Frank Toland, 91
Frank Toland, 91, of Mason City, father of David Toland of Toledo, died Thursday morning June 13, 1957, at a convalescent home in Mason City where he has lived for five years. He suffered a stroke the preceeding Monday.
Frank Elmer Toland, son of the late David and Nancy Toland, was born March 3, 1866, in Tama County. He received his education in the schools of the county.
He was married to Jessie Dudley and the couple lived on a farm in Tama County and near Toledo until about 30 years ago when they farmed in northern Iowa and Minnesota. They later moved to Mason City which had been their home since.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Velma Sahearer, Mrs. Hazel Johnson, and Mrs. Genevieve Kentner, all of Mason City; and two sons, Howard Toland, Mason City, and David Toland, Toledo. A number of grandchildren and great grand-children survive.
Preceding him in death,were two sons, Cedric and Allen.
Services were held Saturday, June 15, at the Henderson Funeral Home in Toledo with the Rev. John Middents officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
