"Butlerville Item”
From Montour Township
During the past week, two of the early pioneers have passed from earth. Gone to that bourne from whence no traveler returns, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor III wife of William Taylor, one ot the pioneers of this part of the country. Mrs. Taylor has been poorly for several weeks, but at times was able to sit up for a short time, and hopes were entertained of her recovery until within a few days past when she was taken worse. Her disease being complicated seemed to baffle all human skills. About 2 o'clock on Sunday morning death released her of her suffering. She was conscious to the last. She was about 56 years old and leaves a large family of children all of whom are grown but one, and a large circle of friends who mourn her departure. The funeral was held at the schoolhouse on Monday at 2 o'clock P.M. and was attended by a large concourse of people. Rev. S. N. Howard of the M.E. church of Montour officiated. He gave a very interesting discourse From Matthew XXIV:44.
