JOSEPH DYSART.

The Cerro Gordo Republican gives this sketch of Senator Dysart, the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor: Mr. Joseph Dysart, the new man on the Republican State Ticket, candidate for Lieut. Governor, is a graduate of Dickenson College, Pennsylvania, graduating at the head of his class. He studied law, and was admitted to the bar, but did not continue in this profession long. He came to this State about 18 years ago, settled in Vinton, where, after a short time, he connected himself with Hon. Thomas Drummond in the publication of the Eagle of that place. He did not continue in this business long, but after a few months removed to Tama county, where he commenced improving a 1,000 acre farm. On this tract he has resided ever since, and as a farmer he has met success. He has been honored by his neighbors with several terms in the State Legislature, and his career in that body has been marked less as a debater than as a clam, intelligent worker on committees. His votes were always cast on the side of the people. He is a good man in the right place.
