MRS. ANDERS THORSBAKKEN
Mrs. Karen (Anders) Thorsbakken was born in Vestre, Brandhu, Hadelund, Norway, Nov. 19, 1869, and passed away Oct. 3, 1938, at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 14 days.
September 14, 1893, she was united in marriage to Anders Thorsbakken. They emigrated to America in 1914 and made their home on a farm northwest of Story City, and in 1937 they moved back again to their first home, where she lived until her death.
Mrs. Thorsbakken had been in poor health the last four years, but was able to be up and around caring for herself until two weeks before her death.
Mourning her departure are her husband, five children, and eleven grandchildren. The children are, namely: Mavis of Stanhope, Christian of Jewell, Mrs. Thomas Enderson of Stanhope, Mrs. Joseph Olson and Mrs. Thomas Dicks of Jewell.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Oct. 6, at the Immanuel Lutheran church at Story City, Revs. T. T. Heimarck and H. O. Oppedal officiating. The pallbearers were B. L. Johnson, L. M. Johnson, J. E. Iverson, Gifford Erickson, Albert Mathre and Elmer Sande. Interment was made at the St. Paul's cemetery, northwest of Story City.
