Mrs. G. O. Teig passed on to her reward Monday, February 7, 1938, at her home west of Borup, after an illness of seven months. She was a patient at St. Luke's hospital in Fargo, N. D., for two weeks where she underwent an operation December 1, returning to her home December 13, where she had been in bed mor or less until the Lord called her home.

Martha Severina Skorpen was born on a farm near Story City, Iowa, February 13, 1883, being 54 years, 11 months and 24 days at the time of her death. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri's Lutheran church in Story City Ia. In the year of 1904 she moved with her parents to Valley City, N. D. On July 3, 1904, she was united in marriage to G. O. Teig of Borup, Minn. Following the marriage they moved to the groom's farm near Borup where they have resided over 30 years. To this union five children were born of which four are living, being Julius at home, Mayer of Malta, Montana, Mrs. Conrad Sterton of Hendrum, Minn., (Marjorie) and Rebecca at home.

Mrs. Teig was a kind and loving mother, wife and neighbor, loved by all who knew her. Even during her time of suffering she remained the same sweet and kind sister with a smile for every one. From early childhood Mrs. Teig was an ardent Christian worker wherever she was, and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, February 10, at 1 o'clock and at the Winchester Lutheran church of Borup at 2 o'clock. Rev. S. J. Lindseth officiated. Mr. Martin Larson of Perley, Minn., sang a hymn at the house and two at the church of which one was Norse: Den Store Hvide Flok Vi Se. Mrs. Larson accompanied at the piano. Interment was made in the Borup cemetery.

Acting pall bearers were: Axel Hedlund, Herb Tufte, Sylfest Stenness, Nick Miller, John Kroshus, Adolph Miller, the honorary pall bearers were: Mike Hennen, John Arends, J. B. Hennen, Earnest Schmidt, Edward Shaide and Frank Fraker.

Many beautiful floral gifts and a large mission offering were given in memory of the deceased.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, G. O. Teig, two daughters Marjorie and Becky, to sons, Julius and Mayer. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jens Skorpen of Valley City, N. D., a sister, Miss Selma Skorpen, a nurse in Honolulu, Hawaii, and a brother, Joseph Skorpen, secretary of schools at the same place. Two other brothers, Halvor and Thomas Skorpen of Valley City and five other sisters, Mrs. U. F. Larson, Hanska, Minn., Mrs. Karen Hendrickson, Bismarck, N. D., Mrs. Fred Robinson of Malta, Montana, Mrs. Agnes Wright, Oriska, N. D., and Miss Judith Skorpen of Valley City, besides many other relatives and a host of friends.

The out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Martin Teig of Stanhope, Chris Teig of Stoery City, Henry Terig of Jewell, Donald Teig of Blue Earth, Ole Omvig of Mylo, N. D., Mrs. Agnes Wright and daughter, Evelyn Mae of Ariska, N. D., Miss Samilena Rasmusson of Fargo, N. D., and Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Skorpen and Miss Judith Skorpen all of Valley City, North Dakota.
