DEATH OF FORMER STORY CITY MAN

John E. Jacobson, 78, a pioneer of Story county, died May 24 in the hospital at Carpio, N. D., from an operation for gall stones. He had been failing for about 15 years.

He left this community for Perley, Minn., in the spring of 1896, and farmed there a few years. In 1903 he moved with his family to Dickey, N.D., where they have lived since.

He leaves to mourn his death his children: Elmer and Lillie at Dickey; Judith and Myrtle at Maple, Minn.; Jake at Stillwater, Minn.; Henry and Wilbur at Adrian, N. D.; Carrie at Berlin, N.D. and Susie at Duluth, Minn. His wife and son Bert have preceded him in death.

John Jacobson was born on March 16, 1859, on a farm southeast of Story City. He was the oldest son of Erick and Bertha Jacobson. His parents, two brothers and five sisters have died. Two brothers and one sister survive him. They are: Bartle and Mrs. Emily Carr of Story City and Martin of Winthrop, Minn.

Funeral services were held at Dickey and he was interred beside his wife and son.
