HAWARDEN, Iowa –Donna Rae Liston, 62, of Battle Creek, Mich., formerly of Hawarden, died Monday July 17, 2000, at the Battle Creek Health System in Battle Creek.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at the American Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Jeff Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden Visitation; will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Liston was born June 28, 1938, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of John and Minnie Halverson. She attended Akron schools. She married Duane Liston on Sept. 23, 1978, in Alcester, S. D. They lived in Hawarden where she was employed at Otis Radio, retiring in 1983. Mr. Liston died Feb. 7, 1994.

She was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Rae and her husband, Alex Wates, of Battle Creek, MIch., and Marsha Mae and her husband Richard Pacheco, of Portage Ind.; a step-daughter, Sherri and her husband Kevin Jacobs, of Akron, Iowa; two sstepsons, Butch and his wife, Sue Liston of Chicago, Ill. And Randy and his wife Cheryl Liston, of El Paso, Texas; a brother, Duane Halverson of Albany, N.Y.; a sister, Gloria Stokes (Stotz) of Akron, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Kandi Kay Ramirez, Megan Elizabeth Pacheco, Melyanda may Pacheco, Holliw Renee Easterling, Jeremy Liston, Casy Liston, Lea Jacobs, Matt Jacobs, Kyle Jacobs, and Chad Jacobs, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Halverson.

Memorial may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation.
