Employment: After high school, Jim began working as a farmhand and also farmed independently. He was then hired by Lansman Seed, Purina Mills, and MoorMans Feed, all of Audubon, IA. Following that, he began his trucking career and worked for Suhr, Larsen Brothers, and Handlos Farms. He also farmed west of Audubon, where he grew row crops and raised livestock.

Hobbies/Interests: In his earlier years, Jim enjoyed taking his family on weekend trips with their horses to go trail riding; was passionate about helping his kids care for their 4-H calves and spending time at the county fair. In more recent years, you could find him on his beloved Harley Davidson or in his Camaro or enjoying coffee with friends at Darrell’s. Mostly, Jim’s greatest joy was his family.
