Funeral services for Criag Michael Smith, 26, Davenport, husband of the former Wendy Wilkins, Bennett, were held Dec. 11 with burial in the Pine Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist church, Davenport or Mercy hospital, Davenport.

Mr. Smith drowned Dec. 9, after falling off a barge docked near Buffalo. An employee of Alter Barge Line, Inc., Davenport, he was stringing running lights about 5:30 a.m. on a barge docked at the Alter terminal in Buffalo when another employee tossed him a string of lights. He lost his balance and fell into the river.

Mr. Smith was married to Wendy Wilkins in Bennett in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Nathan; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Davenport; 2 sisters, Mrs. Peter (Debbie) So, Denver and Rebecca Smith, Decatur, IL; 2 brothers, Brad and Brian at home and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, all of Davenport.
