DEATH of ED FERBER.

The commuity was shocked and saddened this morning when the news spread that Ed FERBER, on of the most highly respected citizens of Mount Ayr, had died suddenly from heart failure during the night. Mr. FERBER was at his place of business yesterday, ate a hearty dinner and retired at the usual hour, apparently in his usualy health. About one o'clock he arose to get a drink of water, and about an hour later Mrs. FERBER heard him moan as if in distress and going to his bedside realized that his condition was critical. Other members of the household were awkened, a physician was summoned, and examination revealed the fact that life had passed out.

For many years Mr. FERBER resided on a farm in Poe Township. He was a successful farmer and a good citizen. A few years ago he moved to Mounty Ayr, formed a partnership with Charles TEALE and engaged in the mplement business. About a year ago the firm opened a mill in the old creamery building and Mr. FERBER had active management of the business.

Mr. FERBER was a man of excellent character; honest in his dealings, kind and generous. He was possessed of a happy disposition and at his death the community mourns.

Funeral service weill be held at the Methodist church Friday at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL.
