Charles Gerald Gleason

C. Gerald “Jerry” Gleason 69 died of a respiratory ailment Wednesday,
April 9, 1986, at Mercy Medical Center. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grandview Funeral Home. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Gleason was born December 21, 1916, in Mount Ayr, Iowa, and had lived in Kellerton before moving to Des Moines in 1951. He was founder and owner of Engraving Associate, Ltd, and was a purchasing agent for Bankers Life Company. Before moving to Des Moines, he owned The Gamble Store, a hardware store in Kellerton. He was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church, Masonic Lodge in Kellerton and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene V., two sons: Dr. Stephen of Des Moines, and Chris of Ankeny, three stepsons: David Phillips of White Bear, Minn., Douglas Phillips of Canoga Park, Calif., and Timothy Phillips of Highland Park, Calif.: , a brother, Morris of Des Moines; two sisters:
Vera Burzacott and Ruth Andrews, both of Des Moines, and nine grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercy Hospital Medical Center Foundation.
