OBITUARY - MRS. E. J. POLLOCK

Elizabeth J. LEWIS was born May 30, 1836, in Logan county, Ohio, near Bellefontaine. She remained throughout her childhood and received her education at that place. During her childhood she united with the church. After receiving a better education by seeing more of the world and the reading of God's word, not being satisfied with the religion she possessed she sought a deeper spiritual grace, and to her joy and satisfaction found Him precious to her soul and united with the Free Will Baptist church and lived a faithful member, faithful to the church and Sabbath school, always ready to do when called on.

She was united in marriage to J. M. POLLOCK Jan. 8, 1865, in Mercer county, In. They moved to Monmouth, In., and settled on a farm where they spent the first six years of their married life.

They then bought and settled on a farm of their own, making a home for themselves out of the raw materials of mother earth near the place where the city of Tingley now stands. She then untied with the United Presbyterian church of Tingley, and remained a faithful member until her death which came at 11 a.m., on Feb. 20, 1926, at the home of her son, Frank J. POLLOCK, in Chico, Calif., at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 20 days. Mr. POLLOCK passed away 17 years ago.

To this union no children were born, but out of their loving hearts this couple chose and adopted two motherless boys to love and share their home, and whom she leaves to mourn her departure - Frank L. POLLOCK of Chico, Calif., and L. R. POLLOCK of Riverside, Calif., 5 grandsons, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at the Tingley U.P. church on Friday afternoon by Rev. C.R. YOUNG, and interment was made by the side of her husband in the Tingley cemetery.
