OBITUARY
Margaret Birdie (APPLETON) FERGUSON, daughter of William and Margaret (GILCHRIST) APPLETON, was born March 22, 1875, near Burlington Junction, Iowa. and departed this life January 2, 1966 at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 11 days.On May 7, 1902, she was united in marriage with Hugh William FERGUSON, and of this union were born three children - Winifred (Mrs. Bryce WHISLER), of Mosier Oregon; George who died in 1959, and Ira, of Tingley
Mrs. FERGUSON became a member of the Tingley United Presbyterian Church on May 18, 1902 and was a faithful worker in her church as long as health permitted.
She spent many happy hours working with her flowers.
Left to mourn her passing are her children: twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Funeral services were held January 5, from the United Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Gordon STOKKE, pastor of the church. Casketbearers were Edwin SHERWOOD, Wayne OVERHOLTZER, Neal WEEDA, H.K. LORIMOR, Clarence LONG and Keith LININGER. Interment was the Tingley Cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Wendell FERGUSON, Ottumwa; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil APPLETON, Hopkins, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. George McCLAVE, McClave, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Darl FERGUSON, Centerville; Mr. and Mrs. Dick LECHTENBERGER, Lincoln Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh FERGUSON, Winterset; and Mr. and Mrs. Dan FERGUSON, Des Moines.
