Wood, Mable Gaule -
Mabel E. (Gaule) Wood was born February 23, 1925 in rural Diagonal, to James H. and Mary E. (Perkins) Gaule.
She departed this life on October 27, 2004 in the Clearview Nursing Home, Mount Ayr.
She graduated from the Clearfield High School with the Class of 1943. In 1944 she and Howard R. Wood were
united in marriage in Baton Rouge, LA. They made their home in Clearfield where they raised their family and she
worked as a cook in the Clearview Nursing Home.
Mabel was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Clearfield as well as the Christian Church and Royal
Neighbors of America.
Surviving Mabel are her eight children; Jim Wood and wife Kathy, Brad Wood and wife Tammie, all of Colfax;
Jerry Wood, Clinton, Johne Wood, Altoona: Lori and husband Terry Danielson, Creston; Jeff and wife Cathy,
Wood, Lenox; Mary and husband Grover Mains; and Linda and husband Al Brammer, Clearfield; also a sister,
Darlene Mobley, Colfax; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents: husband, Howard, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services were held, Saturday. Oct. 30, 2004 at the Christian Church, Clearfield, with Rev. Eydie Stephens
officiated. Casket Bearers were Darin Wood, Eric Wood, Jared Mains, Brian Wood, Quincy Brammer, Red Copeland
Philip Wood, Andrew Wood, Aaron Brammer, Chris Danielson and Kurt Danielson.
Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery.
