Amick, Myrtle L. Richardson –
Myrtle L. Richardson, daughter of John and Julia Richardson was born near Beloit, Mitchell county, Kansas, August 11, 1882. She departed this life at her home in Blockton, Ia. Nov. 6, 1942, aged 60 years, 2 months and 26 days.She moved with her parents to Ringgold county, Iowa in 1893. She became a member of the United Presbyterian church at Redding in 1900 and was a faithful member until her death.
She was graduated from the Redding High School in 1902. On February 8, 1905 she was united in marriage to B. B. Amick at her home in Redding. To this union five children were born; three dying in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, two daughters, Opal and Mrs. Ruby Minor, both at home, and a step-daughter, Mrs. Vera Campbell of Des Moines, four grandchildren and one great grandson; four sisters, Mrs. Abbie Harris and Frona Richardson of Redding, and Mrs. Anna Gardiner of South Gate, Calif., and Mrs. Olive Cossand of Garden Grove, Calif., two brothers, Orville of Delphos Iowa and Alvah of South Gate, Calif. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon Nov. 8, at the Redding United Presbyterian church by the pastor the Rev. S. C. Picken, assisted by the Rev. E. B. Stewart, pastor of the Methodist churches at Blockton and Redding. Burial was made in the family lot in Redding.
