OBITUARY - VELDA MARIE (HARRIS) ADAMS
July 25, 1931 ~ December 15, 2010

Velda Marie ADAMS, daughter of Virgil Lee & Mary Dorothy (CARTWRIGHT) HARRIS, was born July 25, 1931 at Diagonal, Iowa. She graduated from Diagonal High School in 1950. Velda married Raleigh ADAMS and they later divorced. Velda lived most of her life in Mount Ayr. She sold Stanley Home Products and provided home health care for various people. Velda passed away December 15, 2010 at the Health Care Center in Mount Ayr.

Survivors include her children Lowell "Ed" ADAMS of Fox Springs, Washington, Louie (Heidi) ADAMS of Hudson, Iowa and Loretta (Randy) SWEET of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; grandchildren Edward ADAMS, Tahlia SWEET, Noah ADAMS, Melody SWEET, and Emily ADAMS; two sisters Alma HARRIS & Clara McVEY of Mount Ayr; two nieces Debbie AYERS & Pam McVEY; other relatives and friends.

Velda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Connie Sue ADAMS; a daughter-in-law Barbara ADAMS; and a granddaughter Connie Sue ADAMS.

A memorial fund has been established in her name to be decided later.

Services were held Saturday, December 18th at 2:00 p.m. from the Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home of Mount Ayr with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
