OBITUARY - LULA EDNA (McLAIN) SHIELDS

Lula Edna SHIELDS, daughter of Delbert and Rosa (BARTLETT) McLAIN, was born south of Davis City, Iowa, Nov. 9, 1905 and died July 21, 1977 at Ringgold County Hospital, age 71 years, 8 months and 12 days.

She attended country school near Davis City. She joined the Methodist Church.

On May 9, 1925, she was united in marriage to Claude "Bill" SHIELDS. To this union were born two children, Freda SHIELDS of Silver Springs, FL and Forrest SHIELDS, Mount Ayr.

Her entire life was spent on farms in the Davis City, Lamoni and Mount Ayr areas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Orion and John McLAIN.

Survivors include her husband and children are daughter-in-law Carmeta, two grandchildren, Nancy and David Wayne SHIELDS; sisters, Pearl HORNEY, Gilman, Iowa; Iva JOHNSTON, Leon, IA; brothers: Delbert McLAIN, Marshalltown, IA; and Jim McLAIN, Afton, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
