OBITUARY - WILSON SHANNON MOREY

Wilson Shannon MOREY was born in Anglaze County, Ohio, October 8, 1836, and passed away at the Akron [Colorado] hospital February 8, 1931, being at the time of his death 94 years and 4 months of age.

Mr. MOREY'S early life was spent in Ohio. He moved to Iowa when but a young man, where he was married to Miss Margaret Ann HUFF. To this union were born 11 children all of whom were born and raised in Ringgold County, Iowa, and of this family six children and Mrs. MOREY have preceded Mr. MOREY in death. Mrs. MOREY passed away in 1911 and the following year Mr. MOREY came to Colorado, where he resided until his death.

He leaves five children, W. F. MOREY of Hays Springs, Nebraska, Clyde O. MOREY of Brush, G. A. MOREY of Woodrow, Colorado, R. H. MOREY of Clearfield, Iowa and one brother living at Grand Junction, Iowa. He also leaves 22 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Yeamans Mortuary Wednesday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. FLYNN of the M.E. Church. The remains were laid to rest in the Akron Cemetery [Washington County, Colorado].

NOTE: Margaret Ann HUFF MOREY was born October 28, 1841 in Virginia, and died August 7, 1911, Clearfield, Iowa, with interment at Clearfield Cemetery.
