OBITUARY - RUTH E. (ROSS) FEURING
Ruth E. FEURING, 82, of Dumont, Iowa passed away May 29, 2003 at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa. She was born on June 29, 1920 in Athens Township in Ringgold County, Iowa to Dewey and Leone (MUNYON) ROSS. She attended Ringgold Country Schools. On January 26, 1939 she was married in Bethany, Missouri to Warren FEURING.

Ruth was a homemaker and she also helped Warren on the farm. Ruth was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Dumont. She enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible and growing her plants. She especially loved to entertain her family.

Ruth is survived by her three daughters: Linda and husband Bob BENSON of Dumont, Jean and husband John NEUHAUS of Branson, Missouri and Kathy and husband Dennis WAYCHUS of Coulter, Iowa; son-in-law Bob BREKKE of Conrad, Iowa; two brothers: Everett and wife Rowena ROSS of Osceola, Iowa and Wendell and wife Judy ROSS of Leon, Iowa; four sisters: Faye and husband Ray PERKS of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Barbara and husband Jim DURRELL of Leon, Iowa, Peggy CORELL of Leon, Shirley and husband of Des Moines, Iowa; sister-in-law Martha ROSS of Cumberland, Iowa; nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Janice BREKKE, brother Avery ROSS, two grandchildren Anthony and Matthew.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2003 at the New Hope United Methodist Church in Dumont with Rev. Bob CONNOR and Rev. Michael SHAFFER officiating. Special music was provided by organist, Mrs. Beryl REED accompanying soloists Jeffery LONG and Katie BUSMA. The ushers were Don WILKEN and Harold REENTS. Pallbearers were Monty MILLER, James SMITH, Bryan BREKKE, Brett BREKKE, Nathan MILLER and Johnny NEUHAUS. Honorary pallbearers were Brad WARTH, Troy BUSMA, Scott LONG, and Joseph SMITH. Honorary sister was Sharon FANK. Final resting place was in the Dumont Cemetery with Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
