OBITUARY - THELMA LORENE (MARTIN) SKELTON

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Sellwood Methodist Church for Thelma Lorene SKELTON, who died May 23 of cancer at age 77.

Mrs. SKELTON was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Beaconsfield, Iowa, and lived in Des Moines, Iowa, before moving to Portland in 1943. Her maiden name was MARTIN.

She managed Sellwood/Moreland Loaves & Fishes for 22 years and volunteered for many years with the Sellwood-Moreland Improvement League and Elders in Action (formerly Multnomah County's Commission on Aging). She was a member of the church. She had won the Spirit of Portland award and had been honored by the Commission on Aging. In 1942, she married Leon.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Marcus and Tracy, both of Portland, and Devon of Seattle; daughter, Shelly of Portland; brother, Max MARTIN of Arizona; and two grandchildren.

Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to Legacy VNA Hospice. Arrangements are by Wilhelm Funeral Home.
