OBITUARY - DEVA LAVON (MOORE) McGREGOR

Deva Lavon McGREGOR, 81, of Amarillo died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, in Abilene.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. McGREGOR was born Nov. 3, 1925, to Ruben and Mary MOORE in Mount Ayr, Iowa. Later, the family moved to Lamar, Colo., where Deva completed high school. She married Donald L. McGREGOR of Amarillo on Feb. 11, 1946. She lived in Amarillo from the time of her marriage until March 2007, when she moved to Abilene to be near family.

Deva was an exemplary wife, mother and homemaker, as well as an office manager deluxe for Carpenter Paper Co., later UniSource Paper. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Amarillo. A gifted china painter, she was a member for many years of the Panhandle Porcelain Arts Club. She also belonged to White Rose UTU.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1986; and a son, Stephen L. McGREGOR, in 2003.

Survivors include a sister, Lucille DAVIS of Canon City, Colo.; a son, Donald B. McGREGOR of Abilene; a daughter-in-law, Sally McGregor of Baird; a grandson, James K. McGREGOR of San Antonio; two great-grandsons, Stephen R. McGREGOR and James K. McGREGOR Jr., both of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
