OBITUARY - RUBY OPAL (ADAMS) HEYLE

Graveside services for Ruby HEYLE, age 92, of Bedford, who died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Bedford Nursing & Rehab Center will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 1:30 PM. at the Kirk Cemetery in Allendale, Missouri. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Bedford. Memorials can be directed to the Bedford Volunteer Ambulance Service. Memories can be shared with the family at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford.

Ruby Opal (ADAMS) HEYLE was born in Ringgold County near Redding, Iowa on December 26, 1917 the daughter of Ralph Christopher ADAMS and Ruth (MILLER) ADAMS. She grew up in Worth County, Missouri graduating from Grant City High School with the Class of 1937. She was united in marriage to Rex HEYLE on September 27, 1940 in Grant City, Missouri. After their marriage she and Rex farmed in the Worth County area. In 1955, the family moved to the WINTERMUTE Farm, living there four years, before purchasing a farm in Gay Township. Rex passed away in 1973 and Ruby continued to live and work on the farm until moving into Bedford in December of 1991. She passed away peacefully at the Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center on Saturday, October 16, 2010.

Ruby was baptized in 1934 and was a long-time member of the Blockton Christian Church. She was passionate about travel having been to every state, some many times, including Hawaii and a cruise and land trip to Alaska. She was fond of country music, traveling to Branson, Missouri on bus tours for many years. Ruby was an excellent cook and baker, having fresh baked goods for her friends and family. She had a caring nature and a joyful attitude and enjoyed her involvement with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish the memories of Ruby are her two daughters, Judy McGEE of Omaha, Nebraska; and Joyce HUNT and husband John of Coralville, Iowa; four grandchildren, Susan SUTTON and husband Bob and their children Taylor and Marisa of Omaha, Nebraska; Sarah IGEL and daughter Kortni of Omaha, Nebraska; Steven HUNT of Creston; and Angela WOLF and husband Alan of West Lafayette, Indiana; a niece, two nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding Ruby in death are her parents Ralph and Ruth ADAMS; her loving husband Rex in 1973; a brother Cleo ADAMS and a sister Janice GROOM.

Ruby will be missed by her family and friends.
