Roy David DANIELS, 89, McLouth [Kansas], died July 2, 2009, at the Senior Living Center in Winchester.
He was born May 15, 1920, at Kellerton, Iowa, the son of David George and Lotta DONAHUE DANIELS. He had lived in McLouth since 1966. Roy worked as a correctional officer for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Leavenworth Federal Prison, retiring June 1, 1981, after 20 years service.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from 1938 to 1945, earning 13 battle stars and campaign ribbons.
He married Mary Louise POTTER June 28, 1958, at Mount Ayre (sic), Iowa. She survives at the Senior Living Center.
He is also survived by a son, John David DANIELS, McLouth.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lou DANIELS, April 18, 2000.
Graveside services were Tuesday at the McLouth Cemetery. Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Oskaloosa [Kansas], was in charge of arrangements.
